barfly, I’m a coblogger here and think I can speak for Lotus on this (she’s free to through in her own response)

1) The only people who can see the email address of subscribers are the admins, which is a couple of computer guys and Lotus and me.

2) We are committed to not sharing emails with anyone without express consent. You have to tell us we can.

3) There may be circumstances were Lotus or I (NMC) write you off-blog in response to something on-blog. It’s unusual but it has occurred. But we aren’t sharing email or identity information without consent.

Lotus can correct me if I misunderstand.

Lotus: I’m looking for something in your site administration whereby commenters can ensure their e-mail addresses and real identities are all safe and secure. Over at YP one day, I got an e-mail from a fellow blogger. What a shock. I have some serious reasons for why anonymity is so important to me. thanks.

Dear Lotus,
The puzzle of Richard Scruggs, the Tobacco Wars, North Miss. legal community etc. bigtime shake-up of politics in Mississippi possibly could be addressed by a study of the genealogy of the Republican Party in Miss. since 1964 (Goldwater).
There is a split in the Republican Party in Mississippi.
We are having a Senate election and a House of Rep. election due to the Scruggs indictment.
Do you think Mr. P.L. Blake knows takers on “both sides of the aisle”?
For years politics in Mississippi has not been on the up and up, we are more like the back-rooms of the Chicago precincts.

Since I got such good service on my prior request… I’ll throw this one out as well. I’ve been combing back through all prior posts and comments since the Mess in Mississippi hit here, Lotus… trying to find the origins of how folo became one of the sure-fire ground zero spots for this to unfold and how NMC came to be a part on folo, who he is, etc… I’ve just been really curious. As I’m only on Dec. 3 and already worn out, why not add it to the suggestion box? Could we have a little info on how NMC came to be the awesome fount that we clamor for now daily? While I can see where anonymity might be especially helpful in tracking down and eventually reporting info, will certainly understand if that needs to remain a curiosity—don’t want to jeapordize the source of course. Thanks!
