JFP reports something is happening in Melton trial…

February 19th, 2009 @ 5:47 pm - by NMC · 8 Comments

Update: Here’s what the jury wants according to the JFP feed:  “Defendants back. Another question from jury: wants testimony of Michael Taylor … And clarify definition of conspiracy. Taylor is the witness government witness who blew up and the government was allowed to treat as a hostile witness.  Does the question about conspiracy mean they are arguing over Riccio?   So what’s happening here?

“Something is happening and you don’t know what it is…”

The JFP twitter feed for the Melton trial has it that everyone was called into the court room, defendants included, and that the lawyers are having a bench conference.  The bench conference was about 4:30-4:40ish.   Apparently it’s a question from the jurors, and the judge wants the defendants in the courtroom.

Here’s the feed.

Latest tweet on this: “Prosecution seems more pleased with development than defense.”

    Seems right to me.

Seems they wanted to review some of Michael Taylor’s testimony and a definition of what comprises a conspiracy. “Prosecution seems more pleased with development than defense.” Ha! Sounds like the jury is bringing that lady who was smiling and nodding at John Reeves back to reality.
