“Circuit Court Judge Bobby B. DeLaughter and a former United States Senator joined the conspiracy and agreed to aid and abet Scruggs, Balducci, Patterson, Peters, David Zachary Scruggs and Langston and others….to thwart and defraud… Wilson.”

Big news.  A major shoe has dropped, Wilson v. Scruggs, a new lawsuit filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi.  The subject line is a quote from the complaint.  More in a bit.

I guess the ‘former Senator’ might be a little more than just a witness…??

Is this going to be a civil RICO action?

Can’t wait to see (or maybe not see) the libel action Trent Lott files (or does not file). Ditto DeLaughter.

Observer: a libel suit for what’s in the pleadings?

If no one noticed the timing of the Wilson lawsuit probably has nothing to do with the Feds proceeding and more likely to avoid a potential statute of limitations problem. Langston’s information was filed on January 7, 2008, which would be the earliest date that Wilson reasonably could have discovered the alleged misdeeds so statute of limitations would have possibly run on January 7, 2009 (or within few days of it hitting the news).
