In addition to the story already linked (and kicked around a bit in comments), the Daily Journal has a story explaining the references to Scruggs II in the Langston sentencing hearing yesterday and noting that sources say the indictments will be in early January. The story is a good primer on what Scruggs II will be about, at least as far as the briber in the Wilson case goes. The story does not hint at the answer to something everyone following this wonders: What other cases may be part of the charges?

I’ll have my popcorn ready. The rurmor mill is starting to crank up round these parts.
What other cases may be part of the charges?
IF Ed Peters got up a good head of self-preservation steam, no telling. But I sure hope Houston Patton’s game gets called off too.
What is cranking in the rumor mill, I heard some really good stuff the other day of what was found on some computers, but this blog is not for that sort of gossip.
I’ve just heard an “early Jan” date as a possible Scruggs II kickoff.
Any chance of Dickie coming clean and telling all?
3rd south, the speculation i hear is that the $ exposure that would entail and some of the folks he would have to “give up” mean he’d rather die in jail.
I say Sat., Jan. 3rd.
Who would be the “folks he would have to ‘give up’”? What would the “$ exposure” and to whom would he be exposed? What is P.L Blake doing these days? Just wondering.
P.L. Blake must have CIA/FBI/KKK/GOP/DEM special protection.
Does Trent Lott have a grant of immunity? Has anyone asked?
I don’t think Lott has immunity, but its been stated repeatedly he is not a target just a witness.
What about a gentleman’s agreement. Is Trent Lott the beneficary of a gentleman’s agreement?
