Unsolicited legal advice for Jesse Jackson, Jr.

Generally, when the F.B.I. wants you to come in for a talk, they are not seeking your “insights and thoughts.”

Just an observation.

    Au contraire, Pierre. They always ask whether you understand your rights and whether you want to confer with counsel or just go ahead and spill your guts out. That’s very insightful.

    In my experience, Ben, it would be more accurate to say that they always remember it that way.

    In my experience, they prefer that you don’t talk to counsel…JJ’s lucky if he had the time to do so.

    There’s also this, Ben, there is a category of “thoughts and insight” they find meaningful.

    Then, too, they just might be offering him enough rope to hang himself — lying to the FBI is a federal offense. My advice: Don’t go without a lawyer. Better yet, politely decline the invitation and wait for the subpoena.

    Jesse Sr. has a long history as a shake down artist. The apple usually doesn’t fall far from the tree. Suffice it to say, when there was one unamed candidate in the indictment who apparently was willing to play ball with the Guv in the Senate seat auction, Jr. was the first who came to mind. Perhaps its unfair, but my instincts from years of observing Jackson Sr. and his ilk started kicking in.

    Ah man, I disagree. They usually just want to sit back and chat. I have been a whistleblower, witness, and target all in about a five year span. Always, bring a buddy
