Well I reckon that’s not just a picture of what the world thinks of Bush; it’s a picture of what the world thinks of our country. I see nothing remotely humorous in this. How dare he; we should have prosecuted him years ago. It’s an indictment of the American people and especially the Republican party leadership that we tolerated George and Barbara’s brat for so long. I’m realizing the Republican party is exactly what they accuse the dems of being: an unamerican force. No wonder so many have left it.

Think back: G8 insults, no such thing as global warming, 9/11 comission couldn’t stop the Constitution stomp, Katrina citizens stranded, Heckuva Job Brownie, Abu Graib torture, poor bastards wrongfully held at Guantanamo (5 released today), nomination of Harriet Myers to the US Fucking Supreme Court, Dick Cheney in a bunker somewhere, Alberto Gonzales, Donald”known knowns, unknown knowns, known unknowns” Rumsfeld, John Ashcroft, Bible-thumping stem cell idiocy, contaminated FEMA trailers and tons of wasted ice, Scooter Libby, Terri Schaivo, Valerie Plame, extraordinary rendition, US Attorney litmus firings, puppet federal agency demolition appointments, invade Iraq and ignore Afghanistan, Homeland Security color codes and duct tape, drunken frat boy behavior at the Olympics, “the Decider,” promise to “root out” Osama bin Laden, and my favorite: the current state of the US economy. Who in his or her right might would want to shake his hand? How many of us have know American college kids who went abroad during the past 8 years and tried to “pass” as Canadians? Did you ever think that would be possible?

Regarding today’s habeas ruling that 5 Algerians have been held for 7 years pursuant to a CIA case that “relied exclusively on information obtained from [a] single unnamed source,” I’m interested to hear from the commenters who have defended the detention policy in the past.

This time the National Idiot has a defense: he had just gone thru a long line of grip-and-grin with all the delegates to the conference and had pix taken with each one in a room immediately adjoining the podium. Several of the delegates had not not met and shaken hands that day, so their handshakes had to wait until they mounted the podium. To slights … no fouls. So says CNN.
