  • A New Yorker article by George Packer about blue-collar voter disafection in Ohio and the problems the Democrats are having engaging with those voters.
  • And this is hillarious– a new google email tool designed to prevent people from sending out emails when they are three sheets to the wind.  At times of the day you select, when you send an email it pops up a window and asks you to do some quick math calculations, and if you don’t answer accurately fast enough, stops you from sending the email.
  • Speaking of tools, here’s a description of a new free program that, if your laptop is stolen, will send tracking information from it automatically and even photo whoever is using it if you have one with a camera above the screen.
  • Giant Catfish on the Indian-Nepal border have developed a taste for humans, chomping on the occasional bather.  Another reason to support U.S. farm raised catfish.
  • Oh, great, the people at the Treasury dept are still not learning:  From Tim Magazine’s Justin Fox, quoting Financial Times:  “‘Officials have reviewed the nuclear option of providing an Irish-style sovereign guarantee for all US bank deposits and many or all categories of bank debt as a means of restoring banks’ access to private funds. But they fear that providing formal guarantees only for banks would trigger the implosion of financial firms that compete with them, producing massive disorderly flows of funds across the financial sector. So they hope to rely on implicit guarantees instead.’ Great, another implicit guarantee! We know how well the last one of those worked out.”

Everyone can thank me for not saving the man-eating-catfish for a Sunday food post.

This is “revenge of the catfish” for all those years these fishies got such a bad rep as bottom feeders not worthy of being eaten much being served in finer restaurants.

This email tool might come in hand on folo in particular cases of rantings.
