Listen, I could write something along the lines of Steve Benen’s post here, but I’ll save the effort and ask you to go read his. In it, David Gergen and John Weaver speak for some-odd millions of other Americans.

    As has been queried here before by Lotus-who IS the Republican Party? Who is the one/are the ones who could possibly have an sway over McCain? It seems to me he has nothing to lose, other than honor and he’s already tossed that in the trash bin. He has 2 more years to his term in the senate and then he can go angrily into that long night.
