    Just my two cents,

I think this ad reflects part of the Republican strategy. That is to make the folks who have supported the Republican party for years (but are on the fence this time) angry at Obama and the democrats for disparaging those they have supported over the years. “I may be considering not voting republican this time, but you better not be talking ugly bout em.” Something akin to codependency or a domestic situation. “That’s my ex wife you are talking bout, you best shut up!”

I thought this strategy was very effective immediately after Palin was chosen. 95 percent of the yah yah ing I heard that week was not people actually beating up on Palin but Republican people talking about Palin getting beat up upon.

What’s the benefit of telling people three times in 15 seconds that the person you’re talking about says you’re lying? Seems to me to defeat the first 15 seconds.

And anyone who watched either debate isn’t going to believe it, unless they were already convinced.

This looks more like an effort to get the Republican base stirred up so they’ll turn out on Election Day, instead of staying home and complaining about how Bush and McCain killed their party.

Interesting theories, chappies, and I see what you’re saying. Don’t think it’ll work much as GOTV, but I see what you mean.

You know what else must just slay ‘em? They can look all they like, they’re not going to find a photo that makes Obama look ugly. They’d have to PhotoShop something that everybody would immediately nail.

Woop, I meant to watch Intrade today to see/announce when Obama futures tripled McCain ones, but I missed it.

“Pres. Obama” is sitting at $77, up $6.90, with “Pres. McCain” at $24.40, down $5.20.

  6. GlitterGirl says:

*"Pres. Obama" is sitting at $77* Hey Lotus, won’t it feel good when you can leave off those darn ” ” ‘s?

  7. Anderson says:

“Awright, what does this ad do for Obama?”

Same thing Musgrove’s “my old house” ad did for him – gives background, helps voters get to know who he is.

And Roger Wicker isn’t even running “Who is Ronnie Musgrove?” ads suggesting that he’s TEH MUSLIM.

(Favorite stupidity of the week: the blog commenter at TownHall who said that if Obama were really Christian, he’d go by “Barry” not “Barack.”)

  8. lotus says:

    GG 6, YES’m.

Hooo, Anderson, keep us in stitches, don’t they?

Anderson @ #7-and if he’d inherited more of his mother’s white skin he could pretend like he’s not even black (used to be called “passing”) . When it comes to brains, size DOES matter.
