I was in Mountain View, Arkansas. During the night, Ike blew through, with force you would not remotely expect this far from the coast and in the mountains. And Ike knocked the entire power grid off for Stone County (and several surrounding counties) for well over 12 hours, with power expected to be out in much of the area for days.
The local Wallmart did not have generators because they’d sent one batch to Louisiana shortly ago and the other batch to Texas for this round.
Ike has quite the staying power. Remnants coming through Rochester NY tonight with 25 to 35 mph sustained winds and gusts to 50 mph.
Dang, woo. Y’all okay?
NMC, now you know why I demurred at the suggestion the MS coast might be in the clear the other day.
By the way, note the new post on Texas.
Mornin Lotus, twas nothing without the snow!
Heh, woo. Dinky blizzard by Rachacha’s standards, you say? Good.
