It's hard to stay sanguine when one party to the fight has no conscience. Also getting harder, of late, to hold the ideas "Republicans" and "Americans" in the same mindful. Alas, this may indicate that my intelligence is a second-rate one.

Oops-if the the chairman of the Republican Party in Macomb County Michigan ( -a key swing county in a key swing state) gets his way-we may want to pull Obama's EC votes down a notch or two-he's( the Repub chair) planning to use a list of foreclosed homes to block people from voting in the upcoming election as part of the state GOP’s effort to challenge some voters on Election Day. It's not how you play the game, it's about doing everything you can to win, at all cost-even the selling of your own soul

A message from the Electoral College world, based on a to-date average of umpteen polls by RealClearPolitics:
In the 10 battleground states, McCain ahead in 4 @ 10.4 points and Obama ahead in 6 @ 20.3 points.-Given this math and the other for and leaning toward states, IF the election were held today, Obama 273 electoral votes-McCain 265. Don’t anybody get excited-on either side of this campaign. I realize we still “have miles to go before we sleep”.

When Gail says this, its funny. When I said essentially the same thing a few days ago, …..well……..lets just say it did not go over too well. Its all in the delivery.

Personally, no matter what happens in early November, I won’t be running through the streets screaming “the sky is falling”. As imperfect as our system of government appears sometimes, our system of checks and balances has served us well over the years. When the pendulum swings too far in one direction, you can almost always count on an eventual correction.

We all should count our blessings for living in the best country in the world. And it will still be the best no matter who is elected president in November. And if you disagree, and think there is someplace better, well……..you do have the option to move. We’ve all heard those public threats before from some of the celebrities (letting their emotions get the best of them). And I don’t think any of them have ever actually followed through on the threat. For good reason.
