Saturday I posted about the US Attorney’s request that Sean Carothers be cut loose from his remaining sentence so he can further aid the prosecution of U.S. v. Moultrie. Today the DJournal reports that
… His release was ordered today by U.S. District Senior Judge Neal Biggers Jr., who reduced Carothers’ sentence to 12 months and one day, with the rest of be served on house arrest.
Biggers also ordered Carothers to report within two days of his release to the U.S. Probation Service in north Mississippi. …

This isn’t good news if you’re Ronnie Musgrove.
Two questions. One, wouldn’t it be cheaper for Greenlee and Company to just rent out some office space and rooms down in P’Cola for a branch office since they’ve got so much work going on down there, with more on the horizon. Two, will Dickie and Zach get to have Carothers’ room now that he’s been released or will it need to be redecorated before they arrive?
ccvz, why do you see this as so bad for Musgrove? Is there something in particular you think Mr. Carrothers might know?
I’m w/ you CG. I can’t figure out why ccvz is foaming at the mouth in anticipation of this “Getting Musgrove.” I’m no big Ronnie fan, but I don’t think the potential for scandal here affects him. TFG was already working on the project at the behest of Community Bank. The bank brought TFG in after Corrothers had conspired w/ Hall to bilk the project. It is my understanding that TFG was a reputable building firm of food processing plants all over the place. Quite likely Community Bank had dealt w/ them on chicken plants around the state.
To me the debacle can be laid at the feet of Lester Spell and the folks on Spell’s commission and the legislators who supported this project AFTER reading that Mississippi State report that said it wasn’t viable. That really has nothing to do w/ the management of the construction funds that I can see.
Seems more likely that ceegee and Sailor are onto something than that ccvz is here. If Carothers had a Musgrove card, wouldn’t last year have been his prime time to play it?
