Indeed, it could explain a WHOLE lot of crap that started and went on because what would the punishment have been,another semester of law school. That to might explain to me an Ole Miss Law grad in our town that after years just could not make a go of it, he left his family behind, goes to Florida and studies for a year or two and Lo and behold never passed the Florida Bar.

Yepper, mag. Up until — what, NMC, the mid-80s? — Ole Miss Law grads didn’t have to take the MS Bar exam. May explain a lot, I’m thinking.

Just like he was once, as an Ole Miss Law grad, “above” having to pass the Bar exam, OWIL. (I reckon that now-dead tradition may have surprised me as much as anything I’ve learned about MS these seven months, btw.)

I hope that “Ole Miss” letter was mailed, lotus, and not hand-delivered by Khayat. Sorry I am so negative, but the letter would have meant far more had Khayat just made it more personal and not even included any indicia of the University. It would have gone down much smoother with many angry alumni friends of mine and would not have had the faint smell of a quid pro quo attached. Seriously, has Scruggs ever signed one of those pledge cards? I heard they will not even ask him to sign one as Scruggs is “above that” requirement.
