Google logo

As you folks probably know, Google will alter its logo to commemorate anniversaries or other dates. Today, their logo includes Las Meninas because it is Velázquez’s birthday.

Since it’s gone tomorrow, I’ll paste it below. Hopefully it won’t disappear

Update: Google’s pages make clear that they want these logos to disappear after they’re used and ask that they not be reused. In light of that, I’m going to have to take it down after today, although I think you’ll be able to see it on their collection of Holiday and special occasion logos.

Oh, I LOVE this and might not have seen it otherwise, so thank you very much!

Wouldn’t it be the best fun to have the job of researching and developing these commemoratives?

A daily fine arts lesson would be a nice feature to add to FOLO. Many thanks for today’s lesson.

Yeah….wouldn’t want to commemorate D-Day or anything like that would we…..

  4. kingfish says:

of course not. That might be too militaristic or offend someone.

Kingfish and ric, you seem to be the ones hunting around for offense. If you can’t appreciate Velázquez you’re leading a pathetic life.

I daresay I can appreciate good art better than most people on this board or any other site. I don’t belong to several museums for nothing. Although I don’t know if I’d call the one in Jackson a real museum though.

As for Diego, I do like this one: Diego

Not being highly educated, can you help me out with my spelling? Is it pompous or pompass?
