This is going to utterly destroy all the credibility for having interesting musical taste we’ve worked so hard to develop!?!

James Taylor? Wasn’t he marked for death 35 years ago or so?

The Onion gets overlinked but this was was just too good not to share:

Tuff, NMC. Those voices got honey and cinnamon in ‘em, and they make Dylan sound like a hymn, so there. Nyah.

  4. Ben Cole says:

What this blog needs are a few good links to some Junior Brown music.

    Ben out.

  5. NMC says:

I’m all for Junior Brown Ben Cole.

  6. NMC says:

    Junior Brown: here

  7. Headscratchin says:

Junior Brown – that is some mighty fine guitar he plays!! I don’t recall ever having heard of him before, thanks for the treat. I just spent an entire hour listening too all the u-tube links to his stuff. That rendition of 409 is better than the original by the Beachboys.

  8. Ben Cole says:

Junior Brown is one of the best “real country” musicians in the entertainment bidness. He wouldn’t work on the terms demanded by the major recording studios … he is his own agent and does his own bookings. I have been a fan of his for a long time and have made a few road trips just for his shows … see a lotta waterin’ holes followin’ Junior. He can make his “gitsteel” produce terrific music and his songs are all full of good country imagery. If you ever get a chance to catch one of his performances, by all means go. I’m planning on being in Austin for South By Southwest in May … it’s a good trip on the Harley and May is always a good time to be in Austin.

  9. NMC says:

Ben’s right. I’ve seen him here in Oxford a few times, and once in Memphis. Great, great shows.

Okay y’all done it now ya called me out on the real players of the geetars. I like the others too, but Stevie Ray Vaughn is hard to beat while sipping tater juice. I can close my eyes and listen and almost see the neck on that geetar bending he’s playing it so smooth……..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDBIbJKjAZQ and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAG-kX_IlUw&NR=1

Lenny in his hands is like Lucille in BB’s hands

doing for Barack some background rhymin
