I hear that Bobby DeLaughter is right now sitting on the bench at the courthouse in Raymond, Mississippi, conducting business as usual.
Do we have any foloers handy to eyeball that? Can you still take cellphones (ahem, with cameras) in there?

clerk’s office confirms he is on the bench until Supreme Court enters an order. So much for the lofty language in his letter.
In his defense, it may be that has to sit until the order is entered. I would imagine that having a judge step down/be suspended involves quite a shuffling of schedules especially with criminal cases which might have speedy trial constraints.
I don’t know this, but I’m just playing (uninformed) devil’s advocate.
hazel: u may be right.
The Supremes must suspend him. He has agreed not to fight it. Until they do it (and they could decline to suspend him), he’s still a judge, unless he formally resigns. I think.
DN, that was kind of what I suspected. And since he’s shown no signs of any willingness/desire to resign, I guess he’s gotta go to work until an order’s entered.
