UPDATE 4: From NMC on the phone: DICKIE has pled to the Lackey-bribing, and his other charges were dropped — HOWEVER — the gov’t says this DOES NOT include the DeLaughter-bribing case, which is still fair game.
SID pled to Count 1 and is cooperating (the AUSA doesn’t anticipate that Sid, who gave a solemn and heartfelt apology, has exposure in other cases).
ZACH is still in play and they’re about to argue motions on him.
At that point, NMC sped back into the courtroom.

Judge Biggers was wise to set a hearing date for the Friday before the plead deadline. Made it so much easier and convenient for the parties, the lawyers and the court staff for pleas to be entered today.

I take back my opinion of Keker. He got a hell of a deal for Scruggs. I can’t wait to see page two. I don’t see the consistency between him not cooperating and the DeLaughter charges hanging out there.

I’ve been gone and away from the computer all day and I was kind of surprised at the lack of comments about Scruggs pleading guilty. A friend called me and I thought the site would be on fire!
