A couple of other responses in US v. Scruggs

February 19th, 2008 @ 12:37 pm - by NMC · No Comments

The Government Response to Scruggs’ Change of Venue Motion is essentially a long legal argument, not at all newsy, explaining why the government contends that there has been no showing to support a change of venue. The Government Response to the motion to dismiss part of the charges deals with the argument Scruggs made that Judge Lackey’s office is insufficiently involved with federal funds to support three of the charges in the indictment, a largely technical issue of jurisdiction.
