Okay, we’re seeing a bit of glitchiness right now, the worst instance being that I can’t see whether you’re in moderation (though I can see some post-move comments on the new threads). Are you getting through to comment without re-registering, you veteran foloers? If you are, then maybe there’s no problem. Please try your first comment on one of these post-move threads — comments on old threads are apparently going to the old site instead of here. (???)
NMC also reports that we’ve lost the comments on at least one thread, so we gotta go chase after those. Anything else weird that you notice yet?
I had to register…may have been due to some error on my part given my computer skills.
The only one I know of is the Donate-page problem that’s my own doing. I thought for a sec there was another, but it was a false alarm:
On the old site, if you wanted to link to a comment, you clicked on its time-stamp to get the URL. I tried that here and thought it was dead. But look at the upper-right corner of this comment — see that number 3? Now that’s what you’d click on to get the URL of this comment.
Cool, hey: double-duty utility has that little number, telling you how many comments precede it in this thread, and also serving as the way to link it.
Testing. Very neato edit feature.
Okay, I just found another. Tried to see if the Edit button on comment #3 works, and after about 30 seconds of looking at “comment loading,” it said “comment loading failed.” Has anybody else tried this yet?
Testing editing Lotus’ comment – nope, it works for me, Lotus. Maybe it’s the Internet Explorer curse again.
Also a good way to reference a previous comment, as in: “Lotus explained in 3 that…”
My test worked perfect after we petted Cookies and got the second password..and I e-mailed you, all good things must come with effort..
My password won’t let me log in.
No more guest posting for me!
When I click on the name-link on a comment on the right hand side, I get a 404 error every time
that’s odd, it just quit doing that. Was very short-lived; now the link on the name works
Yeah well, NMC, look what I just got when I tried to click on yer comment:
Cheeky damn blog, innit?
This one time at band camp I hit the wrong button….I hope that doesn’t happen here.
Uh, oh 404 on incident report thread!
I think that happened to me when I was scrolling through the thread by using the links up top.
Dang, I still can’t edit my comment. Oh, Hat-fieeee-eld . . .
No edit button. When I hit submit no edit button appears. I can click on my name and edit my text comments but I get nothing that leads me to “bold”, “italics”, “indents” etc.
Jim
Am I here?? lol I tried logging in at the top of the page but darn thing keeps telling me to enable cookies. I followed the instructions for Mozilla AND IE and nothing worked. AARRGG!
sick
you are here and I got the same thing regarding cookies. What did you do?
did you ever think you’d lose your cookies in public?
Hell no!!
Hola
I still can’t log in, Lotus.
I just filled out the section under leave a comment and it allowed me to post. I still can’t log in to the site using the login at the top left of the screen. I am running Norton Antivirus…I wonder if something there is blocking cookies.
Sick,
Beats me but I guess we are here one way or another. Do you see an edit button after you submit your comments?
It appears that comments from earlier today did not make the move.
No, the edit buttons have fallen off the blog somehow – we’re looking for them.
Perhaps a silly question, but thats never stopped me before, I can comment and haven’t registered at the top. Do I need to??
I had to re-register. Haven’t logged out yet to see if I can get back but will try shortly.
Now,
I have been able to come and go as I please.
Jim
SUGGEST anyone having problem go straight to WordPress.com to log in.
PROBLEM I hit “logout” and went to the Word Press “log in” page and got back in BUT when I went to my bookmark for this link, I got the 404. Was able to back up and come in but suggest anyone having problem try my suggestion above.
lotus registration and login worked fine for me….
Hatfield, am I glad to see you! Hope we can set up that remote-in soonish. My machine is still under the influence of CA Security Center, which is bad for its and my mental health.
Y’all, if you can comment okay, don’t worry about logging-in with WordPress. BTW, I’ve noticed that WP wants to be wooed and often won’t say yes on the first or even second try.
(I’m still wondering whether iwannaknow got in okay.)
afotl, so glad to hear from you — NMC can confirm that I’ve fretted about your silence since the tornadoes.
Comment editing temporarily disabled while a new version is installed.
And guess what, ever’ last single emoticon in the place just croaked (brushes fingerstips together three times: done). Heh.
Fingerstips? Hmm.
I’m in and able to post! and I’ve done a new post, check it out. Nowdoucit and Belle will be pleased to see that I can say something nice about Jim Hood, and Bud Fox may find me a disgusting apologist, but what can I say?
are comments down? or is everyone just being really quiet.
I think we are all just getting use to the new folo.
Looks like there are a few bugs such as having to log on twice before being accepted and no edit by the comment box.
Oh, is there any way we can see a private message feature by any chance?
what do you mean by “private message feature” iratetoday? I’m curious.
Testing……I didn’t register – just went straight to the “leave a comment” section.
One where I or anyone who is registered can click on a person’s name and send them a private message.
Oh, guess who else changed their website after nearly a decade….
http://www.mssc.state.ms.us/
Of course, until such time they beginning putting up all the briefs in pdf format, they are severly lacking behind other states.
Why is my message the only one that shows it can still be edited, when msg 43 and 44 doesn’t?
Only the person who posted it can see that it can be edited.
Iratetoday, thank you for responding to my question. I think I’m going to really like the new site.
Remember though, all, that you can only edit your comment for an hour after you first post it. After that, it solidifies and you can’t change it.
test
Nope, Edit still won’t load the dang comment for me. Fie. Two dollars to a donut, it’s to do with that ‘tupid RoadRunner “security” stuff on this machine.
(whimpers for Hatfield)
Testing..*taps the mic*
Ahoy, Alyssa. How goes?
Testing
Did I get in ?? testing
Hey there, Stormy and lawN. Cawfee?
On my third cup now. Had a busy weekend, trying to go back and get caught up.
Site looks good.
Well, Stormy, we’ve still got a few leetle glitches to settle, but overall, it’s going noticeably better than some blog-transfers I’ve seen. So I’m pleased and grateful.
Hi all, i made it in and everything looks good.
AWRIGHT, Stormy and smokey both accounted for!
Well i made it to the this home page for the site but when i try to register it just sits there and does nothing
Definitely need coffee. Big cup!
(pouring lawN a big ol’ cuppa)
smokes, don’t worry about registering on the homepage — more trouble than it’s worth. As long as we can see your comments, you in bidness!
well awight then. sounds goooood to me.
10:30 and nothing filed yet as far as motions go. They will all be filed exactly 15 minutes past my deadline.
It’s not letting me log in.
Not to worry, MSlawyer, it’s letting you comment, and that’s what counts!
(Damn thing won’t even let ME log in on old folo anymore . . . WordPress is just weird, whatcanIsay.)
